The underprivileged children of India are often deprived of adequate food, health care and proper education. This stifles any dreams they may have for a better life and often traps them into a lifetime of hardship and abject poverty. HCH will give them the Gospel of Jesus Christ and build them up in the Word of God through it’s bible based ministry, as well as house, feed, clothe, and provide for the education of it’s children.
HCH will be under the administration of Dr. Mathew Henry. I have known Bro. Mathew since I was 10 years old. He came to the U.S.A. in 1977 to attend Tri-State Baptist College in Memphis,TN. At that time my dad was on the staff of Bethel Baptist Church where Bro. Mathew attended services. In the years following Bro. Mathew went on to earn his B.A. and M.R.E., degrees. In 1981 he returned to India and began training to assume the leadership of his father in law’s (Dr. G.R. Lorne) ministry, the Fellowship of Gospel Indigenous Churches. The F.I.G.C. now includes 125 churches located in southeast India. It is through the network of these churches that children are recommended to HCH. My home church, Hope Baptist Church in Alexandria, La. has supported Bro. Mathew’s ministry for many years.
HCH is adjacent to the Carmel Baptist Church where Bro. Abraham Lincoln is pastor. Carmel Church is one of the strongest churches in the F.I.G.C. and children will receive sound bible teaching and training through it’s ministry.

In June, 2003 I stood on the roof of the Carmel Baptist Church in Visakhapatnam, India. As I looked over an unoccupied section of it’s property, I envisioned a new facility to house and care for orphaned children.I related my burden to the local church Pastor Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Mathew Henry the next day, and we agreed to seek the Lord about the matter. Two days later I returned to the U.S.A. In a short time Bro. Mathew met with Pastor Abraham and the men of Carmel Baptist Church, and they gave their prayerful approval. With the money God had already provided me, and donations from other individuals and churches the new building was constructed. The dedication ceremonies took place on Nov.18, 2003. The new two story building can house up to 50 children as well as it’s caretakers.
